Bible Verses for being Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say you were fearfully and wonderfully created. Those are David’s own incredible words, which were inspired by God!

David devotes a significant amount of time to the subject in the Psalms. David treasured the thought that God was his creator.

It’s no surprise that God referred to David as “a man after his own heart.”

When a man realizes that he was created by God, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

In our God-given minds, questions and thoughts about God and the reason for our existence begin to swirl.

There are many examples of this in the Bible, and we’ll look at a few of them in detail.
Are you all set?

You’ll learn 7 Ways You’re Fearfully and Wonderfully Made in this article:

  1. In God’s image, you are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.
  2. As Living Soul, you are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.

  4. As the Crowning Point of Creation, you are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.
  5. You were made to know God in fearful and wonderful way.
  6. God made you fearfully and wonderfully to be known.

Bible Verses for being Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Bible Verses for being Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Psalm 139:13–16

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hidden from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” (KJV)

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made in God’s image.

Genesis 1:26–27

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and overall the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (KJV)

You were made in God’s image and created to be like Him. This distinguishes you from everything else He created.

You are not an animal, a mammal, or a member of the animal kingdom, despite what evolution theory claims. You were created in God’s image!

One of the reasons David said, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” is because of this.

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made as a Living Soul.

Genesis 2:6–7

“But there went up a mist from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.” (KJV)

This cannot be said of any of the creatures that God created, except for mankind.

Everything else was created by God’s voice, but man was created by God’s hands and then breathed into existence by God! It’s truly incredible!

You’ve got a soul! This distinguishes you as a human from everyone else on the planet. The gift of a soul is given to you. Your soul is what allows you to think about God in the first place.

Your mind, will, and emotions combine to form your soul.
It is humanity’s corps difference.

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made as an Eternal Being.

Matthew 25:41–46

“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” (KJV)

You are an eternal being because you are living soul. You were created in God’s image, and the Bible tells us that you will spend eternity somewhere, just as God is an eternal being.
This is why it is critical to recognize that you are sinner and to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior in order to be forgiven of your sins against God and to spend eternity with Him in Heaven

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made as the Crowning Point of Creation

Genesis 1:27–28

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (KJV)

Genesis 2:1–2

“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.” (KJV)

God created man after he created everything else. We are His work of art.
He didn’t declare it finished until man had been placed into His beautiful creation.

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made to Know God.

Romans 11:33–36

“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.” (KJV)

You were made fearfully and wonderfully by God, for God, and through God. He desires for you to become acquainted with Him. That is why God sent His Son so that we might be forgiven and come to know God the Father through Him.

It says in – Hebrews 4:14–16 “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (KJV)

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made to be Known by God.

Psalm 139:17–18

“How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.” (KJV)

Luke 12:7

“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.” (KJV)

These are just a few of the many verses that demonstrate that you were created to be known by God.
He loves you, He knows you, and He has paid the ultimate price to redeem you, to bring you to Himself, by coming as a man, the Lord Jesus Christ.

You are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made with a Free Will.

Joshua 24:15

“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (KJV)

God could have created you as a robot with no choice but to worship Him. God, on the other hand, wants you to make a decision. He wants you to look for Him and find Him because you want to know more about Him.

We learn in Jeremiah 29:11–13 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (KJV)

Psalm 139:13–16

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” (KJV)
