What is a good scripture for someone having surgery?

Isaiah 41:10 is the perfect scripture for someone having surgery because it reassures the one preparing for surgery that God is with them and that He will help them recover after the operation with His right hand of righteousness.

Are you, the one reading this article having surgery? If so, God is with you!

Moreover, saints in dire straits and in extreme distress through faith wrote this scripture down, meditated on it, read it aloud, stood by it, and God intervened and helped them at their point of need.

Today I’m going to share with you an inspirational insight from Isaiah 41:10, and whether it’s you, your friend, child, or co-worker, this verse will be a great encouragement.

Psalms 51:17 NIV

What is a Good Scripture for Someone Having Surgery?

There are many powerful scriptures of assurance, peace, comfort, strength, and healing in the bible, but this verse in Isaiah is one of my favorite.

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10 KJV).

Now let’s break down this verse line by line:

“Fear thou not, for I am with thee.” Undergoing surgery is a frightening situation; because you can go into the operation room alive and come out dead or critically ill. God wants you to know that He is with you, and as such, you can rest in peace and comfort, not fear. Do not fear; your God is with you!

“be not dismayed, for I am thy God.” Secondly, do not be disturbed by whatsoever the doctor’s reports are before the operation. Man can say one thing, but what matters the most is what God says, and He says do not be disturbed by what the doctors say because He is your God.

“yea, I will help thee.” God will use the surgeons and everyone involved in your surgical operation as instruments of His help. Your heavenly Father will use men to help you. As such, set your eyes on God, not on your doctor.

“yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” God will keep you during the surgery, and after the operation, He will bless you with strength and quick recovery and healing of your surgical wounds.

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 KJV).

What more can I say; your life is in God’s hand, and He will not fail you. Be encouraged, inspired, comforted, and have faith in your God because it is well.

What do You say to Someone Who is Having Surgery: Religious Message?

If God is for you, who can be against you, you’re a child of God; your Father lovers you, and He will not abandon you now.

Take heart, be comforted, be encouraged, and rest in peace and assurance, knowing that your God is with you. He is looking over you. He would be in the operating room guiding the hands of the doctors, and He will grant you speedy recovery after the surgery.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.” (Corinthians 4:16-18

NKJV).

What’s a Good Scripture for Comfort?

There are many comforting bible verses in scriptures for someone having surgery, but I have found this verse in Psalm to be ideal:

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4 KJV).

Jude 1:24 NIV

What is a Good Bible Verse for Strength and Healing?

You have a right to healing as you have a right to salvation, and through faith and patience, you can access God’s strength. Here is a good verse for strength and healing:

“But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,

They shall run and not be weary; They shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 KJV)

What is the Psalm of Healing?

More than one Psalm speaks about healing, but one which stands out is Psalm 6:2-4 because it talks about a man in deep desperation, and he is crying with all his heart for God to heal him.

“Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long? Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.” (Psalm 6:2-4).

The psalmist is asking God to have mercy on him. He tells God how helpless he is, his bones are in agony, and his soul is in deep anguish.

The psalmist is feeling a bit impatient, He has been praying and seeking God, but now he is at a breaking point; he cannot go any further.

He pleas for deliverance and concludes by reminding God of His unfailing love.
