I have been writing a lot from the book of Psalms lately, but today I will share with you a few inspirational Bible verses for encouragement that I hope will bless your heart.

An encouraging word of hope and strength can turn sorrow into joy, crying into laughter, grief into gladness, and hopelessness into expectations.

It can increase your faith, strengthen your confidence, improve your outlook on life, and promotes patience, whether in your life or with someone you know.

Moreover, an encouraging word from God will remind you that your father is still in control despite all that you are going through right now.

I Have Had My Fair Share of Troubles Too

Do not get me wrong; I am not saying that your plight is easy and hardship will instantly vanish; no, I am not saying that. You will need to trust God, have faith, and take action.

You will need to decide to go the whole way with God with no halfhearted measure.

You will need to disciple and push yourself to read, believe, receive, confess, and allow these bible verses for encouragement to revive and guide your life in the way of truth.

I promise you that once you keep at it and do not give up, you will see results faster than you thought possible. 

I highly recommend these scriptures if you are a man and going through hard times, a woman looking for encouragement, or a wife who needs a fresh word from God.

God wants you to be happy, blessed, victorious and endowed with strength to overcome the storms of life and whatever the devil throws at you. 

The devil does not like you, he hates you, and such, he will not dance to your beats.

Here is what the bible says about the devil …”The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…” John 10:10.

You see, the devil comes to kill your joy, steal your peace, rob you of your confidence in God, and destroy your faith.

Whatever good thing you have in your possession or pursuing, the devil comes to take it from you.

From satan’s perspective, you must not enjoy prosperity, favor, joy, peace, fulfillment, faith, and all the other precious virtues and promises of God.

Satan wants you to give up now on your faith in God. 

He wants you to stop encouraging your kids

He wants you to stop praying for your family.  

The devil wants you to stop standing in the gap for your spouse, whether he is a husband in need of motivation or a wife struggling to keep the family together.

But John 10:10 concluded by saying this: “… I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.”

That was Jesus talking to his disciples back in bible time and is now speaking those exact words to you, me, and all those who will follow him.

Unlike Satan, Jesus came to undo and untie every work of the devil. 

Jesus came to set the captives free; He came to heal the sick of cancer any disease; He came to nature strong leaders, and most importantly, He came to bring salvation to as many as would believe and receive Him.

Whatever the devil has planned and is planning against, Jesus came to undo it. 

Christ has given you the victory; you are the ideal candidate for a breakthrough, so look no further; your name is before God. 

God has sent me with a word for you, and your hour of favor, grace, prosperity, joy, peace, and comfort is here.

Psalm 46:1

It can be difficult to find the strength to keep going when you’re in the midst of life’s storms. As such, we’ve compiled a list of encouraging Bible verses that are uplifting. God can use these verses to uplift you or those you care about who are struggling with temptation, in the midst of a crisis, or just trying to keep going.

 Deuteronomy 3:28

“But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.”

Encouragement from others

Remember what I said at the beginning of this post? “If you’re fortunate, encouragement is one of the biggest blessings you will receive in life.”

We all need each other, and most definitely, you’ll need to find someone God-fearing who would have your best interest at heart to be in your life.

A true sign that you have received favor from God is when other persons are willing to invest their time, money, and other resources to push you into your destiny and call in life.

As anointed as Joshua was, and as powerful as God is; Joshua needed God to send a man (Moses) to encourage him to go and possess his inheritance.

For this reason, I would encourage you to pray to the Lord to send people into your life who can encourage you.

Because, as we see here with Joshua, it doesn’t matter how much faith you have in God; you need someone from the earth realm to encourage you.

It’s a pattern in scriptures and should you neglect or disregard it you’ll rob yourself of many wonderful blessings.

Psalm 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Encouragement from God’s presence

Let’s say you don’t have anyone to encourage you currently. What are you going to do? Wait in sorrow until someone comes? Of course not, and here’s where the role of the Holy Spirit as a comforter comes in.

He will encourage you, remind you who you are and whose you are. So, while you’re praying that God will send men to help you, the Spirit of God will console you while you pray.

For this reason, you must never forget to seek and remember God in your times of despair and sorrow.

That said, it’s somewhat unfortunate that many believers when faced with hard times seek the help of men first without seeking God. This is wrong and at all costs must be avoided.

As I always say, and the bible bears me witness that God does use men to bless men. After all, he had given the earth to men and he won’t violate his word and take it back.

But at the same time, as a child of God, we are instructed to seek God, to look to the hills, and to acknowledge God in all our ways so that he can bring our heart’s desires to pass.

When the chips are down, when you rejected by men, and when your back is against the wall you can count on God, you can rely on him as Psalm 46:1 says. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

1 Chronicle 29:12

“Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign overall. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand, it is to make great and to give strength to all.”

You will find success with God

Failure is often the root cause of many discouraged souls. Whether failure in marriage, business, family, friendship, health, goals, and in other areas in life, failure is a common cause.

Take me for example, there have been times in my life where I was so discouraged, frustrated, and fed up, and it all had to do with failures.

But this encouraging verse along with others helped me through those dark days, and even now when I’m down I will go to these scriptures for encouragement.

That said, let’s look at what this text says: “both riches and honor come from the Lord, power, and might is in His hands.”

Can I remind you that your Father, our God knows how to turn your failures into success?

Sure, you may not feel and see the hands of God working in your favor now, but that’s alright because even great men of God like Moses, Elijah, Peter, and many others in the Bible at some point felt abandon by God.

In fact, many of them had failures in their lives, but they didn’t stop at failure, they trusted God who rekindled their fire, and caused them to do mighty things.

I’ll say it again: “It doesn’t matter how many times you fail and tumble in life.” What matters is that you get up and keep on running the race. You will find that while running; God will take over and cause you to mount up with wings like an eagle.

I encourage you to be patient, consistent in seeking God and wait on God for your glorious and permanent lifting.

Isaiah 40:31

“But those who wait on the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint.”

Wait on the Lord

Waiting is never easy, especially when you want something so badly and is being told to wait. But that is what God is saying in Isaiah 40:31.

He’s saying: “I know you have needs, I know you’re going through a rough patch right now, I know you feel abandon, and I know you feel hopeless.”

But despite all your pain and discouragement, let me remind you that God, in addition to saying “wait,” also say: “I will renew your strength. You will mount up with wings like eagles; you will run and not be weary, you will walk and not faint.”

Waiting is powerful, and a great blessing to those who will wait. I would encourage you to wait on the Lord, things may not look as you want them to right now. But if you stay in God; I promise you things will get better faster than you think possible.

Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fills you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

Hope will not disappoint

Like many blessings from God in the bible, hope is dynamic and necessary in our daily walk with God.

Hope is vital, so much so that it is virtually impossible to dream of prosperity, power, greatness, and peace without it.

Hope makes it possible to have dreams and aspirations. Hope is a life-giving substance that helps us to remain focused while keeping our expectations alive.

Let’s look at the text. It’s referring to David, the King of Israel, encouraging himself to hope in God.

What is striking about this encouraging scripture verse is the fact that David was once King of Israel, but now found himself in exile from Jerusalem.

This wilderness experience that David was going through wasn’t pleasant. I’m sure, and the Psalms bear me witness that on many nights he cried himself to sleep. He was troubled, seemly hopeless, discouraged, and at one point wished to die.

But despite those traumatic events and fearsome experiences, David found a wait to encourage himself in the Lord.

“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God (1 Samuel 30:6).

David didn’t allow discouragement and the fact that his men wanted to stone him to get the better of him, he was convinced that God is his refuge and hiding place, so he encouraged himself.

Like David, life can send some mean punches. But when this happens and you find yourself amid life’s storms, this uplifting bible verse for challenging times will motivate you to stand tall in God.

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

2 Corinthians 4:16–18

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

The scriptures say a lot about encouragement, and in my estimation, very few is as powerful as these verses that follow:

Romans 8:31-39

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

V32…. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

V33… Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

V34… Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

V35… Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

My heart goes out to all those who have lost their jobs during these challenging times. I can only imagine how you feel and how you are coping with it. That said, please find strength from these encouraging bible verses and that God has your best interest at heart.
