30+ Healing Scriptures for Dementia

Because we’re all human, our bodies break down as we get older, and our mind loses their flexibility as well.

For some, the degeneration is severe enough to warrant a diagnosis of dementia.

Simple things that are simple for others are now difficult to complete when coping with dementia. The flip side is that even the most mundane abilities, such as the capacity to bake bread, can feel life-giving.

What is Dementia? How Does It Affect You?

Dementia is a subtle but evil disease that’s been on the rampage for a very long time, even Jesus’ day.

Dementia is a group of brain-related symptoms that cause changes in one’s intellectual and social functioning rather than a single disease.

Moreover, Alzheimer’s disease is one of the most common causes of dementia while memory loss is a symptom, but not all memory loss is dementia.

Further, dementia can progress in a variety of ways; your doctor may be able to predict what to expect if you or a loved one has dementia, but each situation is different.

Persons with dementia can lose track of where they are, and not know how to care for themselves, and what to do with objects.

They may even be scared and suspicious of you.

Friends and family members may not know how to communicate with, comfort, or even be with such persons.

But…there is HOPE IN GOD’s WORD.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, remember that God is with you and will give you the strength to persevere.

Prayer for Those Suffering With Dementia

Father of all flesh and spirit, your Son Jesus Christ brought healing of mind and body to deliver your people from satanic oppression and to show that your Kingdom is here.

In this hour of dire and urgent need, I look to you in prayer, I seek to understand your purpose at this hour and to see the manifestation of healing to this loved one (name of loved one) mind.

Lord, I don’t only pray for my loved one, but I also pray for all those whose memory is fading. Also, Lord, bless those who care for the sick, who share the journey, and who need your grace to continue. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
