Even before Covid 19, many people were battling with something or the other to stay alive. And now that there is a global pandemic, we are facing greater fear of illness, as well as the potential impact on those with pre-existing medical conditions.
Where do we go from here? Maybe no one knows, but one thing for certain is the daily plea, prayer, and hope are for healing, either for oneself or others.
The Bible is a compendium of God’s promises and there’s no better time than now to look to God for healing for your body.
To that end, we have compiled a few powerful, encouraging, and inspiring healing scriptures that you can declare over your body starting right now.
Healing Scriptures for Your Body
Healing is yours, God said, He meant it, you believe it, receive it, and you shall have it. God is faithful and no matter what you are feeling right now He will pull you through this.
1. Psalm 73:26
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Here’s a confession of the mindset that is required to get healing or anything to that matter of fact from God.
You need to be convinced, confident, and fully persuaded that even if your body is decaying, your heart and faith in God will not bend. This mindset will always win and will move God to come to you swiftly.
2. Luke 6:19
“And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.”
It takes power; real power to crush sickness permanently, and that is what Jesus demonstrated in this verse and when He walked the earth.
Crying, tears, grief, depression, and worry cannot crush sickness, it takes the power of Christ.
Today you can choose to accept Christ and immediately receive Him and His power to heal you. Go ahead, the Lord is waiting on you.
3. Matthew 9:35
“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.”
God doesn’t want you sick, and it’s clear from this verse that He wants to, and will heal everyone that will come to Him for healing.
From now on you will have to start looking at your sickness as an enemy and treat it as such, that’s the only way you are going get your heling.
4. Psalm 107:20-21
“He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men”
He sent His word and healed them (us). God sent Jesus Christ into this world and He healed us all, no one is excluded, and that means you claim your healing if you are getting for it.
5. Isaiah 53:4-5
“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed.”
It doesn’t matter what you did today, yesterday, last week, or even 15 years ago; Jesus died for you, and as such has forgiven you of every sin.
I would encourage you to allow the Lord to search your heart and if there be rebellious ways in you; amend it now and embrace Christ’s love and forgiveness.
The devil, people, or even your heart has no right to condemn you; it was Jesus who died for you.
Romans 8:34 says, “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, or rather that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”
1 John 3:20 say, “If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.”
6. 3 John 1:2
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
Are you now getting a clearer picture of God’s will for your life? God wants you healthy, wealthy, strong, and a warrior for him.
Don’t allow the devil or no one to deceive you; wants have blessed you and you need to walk in it.
7. Proverbs 4:20-22
“My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.”
I want you to pay attention to this scripture; have you noticed the emphasis placed on keeping the instructions of God?
God promised to heal but many people don’t get their healing because they don’t want to engage God on His terms and conditions but theirs.
Obedience is important and to everything beautiful in God, see what the Bible says about obedience.
1 Samuel 15:22-24 says, “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
8. Matthew 9:20-22
“And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.”
9. 1 Peter 2:24
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds, you have been healed.”
What more can be added to what God has already said? Again we see that God is repeating Himself to make it unequivocally clear that “YOU ARE HEALED.”
10. Psalm 103:2-3
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.”
And no better way to conclude this list is by reminding you to be thankful and bless God’s holy name.
Sure, you may be in pain and things may not be the way you want them, but give God thanks nevertheless because in so doing the blessings of God (your benefits), will find you.
Final Thoughts
It’s not God’s will for you to be sick. Some people at times think that God brought sickness on them, but I want to assure you that God is good, not evil, and every good and perfect gift comes from God.
Why do we then accept sickness as though it is the will of God? This is a trick of the enemy and we must not entertain it.
God has healed you, 1 Peter 2:24 says, He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds, you have been healed.”
Healing is your God-given right, but not because it’s your God-given right means that you are entitled to it; faith is the key.
For this reason, I would encourage you to read, meditate, confess these scriptures to build and encourage your faith until you see God’s healing manifest. You can choose to be healed right now.
