How do You Pray for Surgery?
My Father, you are my shepherd and protection. I pray that you will see me through this surgery. May your leading hand be on the surgeon so that this surgical intervention may be a successful operation. I thank you because I know that even doctors are your tools and your assistants on the earth.
It is well; be at peace, God is in control, and He will see you through. Now, here are 20 calming bible verses to read before surgery:
20 Bible Verses Before Surgery
I pray that the following Bible verses before surgery will comfort you and remind you of the peace and confidence we have in Christ
Exodus 15:26
Even before your surgery, the Lord says ” If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
The Lord is he that healeth you: Out of all the bible verses to read before surgery this is one of my favorite because it makes it very clear that the Lord is he that healeth you. It’s the Lord’s will to heal you; just declare and claim this promise of healing now.
Psalm 118:17
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”
You shall not die: Psalm 118:17 is a powerful psalm to read before surgery because it reinforces and tells of God’s commitment to your life.
I would encourage you at this moment to say like the psalmist, ” I will not die, but live to declare the works of the Lord.”
Matthew 8:17
“That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.”
Jesus Christ took your sickness: Jesus Christ paid it all, he came to the earth, was captured, lied upon, persecuted, sentenced, battered, and left to die on a cross, buried, and rose on the day.
And all of that was done for you, claim your healing now, and for this reason, Matthew 8:17 was also added to this list of 20 bible verses to read before surgery.
Isaiah 53:5
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed”
You are healed: If Matthew 8:17 did not convince you, then Isaiah 53:5 makes it clear that you are healed; notice it did not say you’re going to get well, but it says you’re healed; that past tense (already happened).
In God’s eye; you’re healed; claim, walk in it, and see it manifest. Isaiah 53:5 are among the best bible verses for surgery or after surgery to read. This is why I’ve chosen to also add it to the list of bible verses to read before surgery.
