These powerful scriptures for healing and strength will teach you how to activate God’s healing power over your life.
But first… a short testimony of healing:
I remember vividly a few years ago when I got my back damaged and could barely walk. I was in bad shape and needed help fast.
But the total cost of my treatment was just too steep, and I did not have health insurance at that time.
I only had enough money to cover one visit to the physician, and after that visit, I suffered in unrelenting pain. The pain was unbearable, and something had to give.
But what happens next will bless and inspire hope in you:
God healed me, and today my back is completely restored.
There’s no pain or any form of discomfort in my back.
What had happened was a miracle of healing because the doctor had told me that one of my legs was longer than the other, and I would need treatment to fix it.
But thank God, that was about seven years ago, and my back and legs are both perfect.
I choose to share that brief testimony with you to let you know that God still heals, and as his child, you qualify for healing.
Moreover, I will share and explain a few wonderful healing scriptures from the bible based on my experience with illness, the grace of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and knowledge from on high. But allow me to answer a few important questions first:
What is Biblical Healing?
The biblical definition of God’s healing is when one, through the grace and power of the Holy Spirit receives restoration to any decayed or dead area of their life, whether physical, mental, spiritual, or in the soul.
Does God Still Heals Today?
He certainly does, and hence the reason I shared my testimony is that God still heals now as he did in the old and new testament.
But the key is learning how to activate and release God’s healing power over your life.
How to Activate God’s Healing Power?
The pattern is simple, but the lack of dedication, discipline, consistency, and faith causes many to miss their healing.
For example, we have learned that faith is all we need to receive healing. Yet, many sincere Christians who love God are sick for years, and some even die by their sickness and disease.
Is God unjust? No, but let’s look at scriptures to uncover the mystery. The first healing scripture we’re going to look at is James 5:13-17.
“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.”
What have you noticed after reading those verses? I’ll tell you. Even though God promised to heal; it takes you or someone to activate and release that healing over your life.
“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick.”
As you can see here, if you’re sick, don’t cry, mourn, and say you’re waiting on God. God is waiting on you to activate and accept your healing.
So, what you do instead is to find someone to agree with you and then, with both of you believing, claim your healing. It is as simple as that, but too often we complicate the word and blessings of God.
What Does God Say About Healing the Sick?
I would allow the bible, God’s written words to speak for themselves. In these healing verses, here is what God says about healing the sick.
1 Peter 2:24 “Who his own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
Matthew 9:35 “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”
Exodus 15:26 “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
